As a professional with over 27 years of experience in sales and manufacturing, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a hands-on approach to property management. I became an Illinois Licensed Real Estate Broker and Realtor® in February 2024 and have been an active real estate investor since 2012. Over the years, I’ve managed my own properties and hired property managers to manager our out of state properties, giving me unique insight into the needs of both property owners and tenants. I love sharing my experience and knowledge with new investors to maximize their income from their properties.

I live in Lombard, Illinois, with my wife of 20 years, our 15-year-old son, and two dogs. In my free time I am an avid 4 season cyclist and fisherman.

I am committed to offering reliable, professional service to property owners, and quality housing and a top notch experience to tenants.

I was first influenced by my father, who was an architect and then a civil engineer.

During college, I helped my father GC (general contract) the home in which the family would live in for many years. This home was also designed by my father, so a serious education ensued in learning every aspect of architecture and home design as well as its eventual construction. This was about as hands-on as you could get.

After earning an aerospace engineering degree, my experiences in my professional career provided me a thorough view in how design, aesthetics, construction, quality, costs and ROI all interacted.

Eventually I found and purchased an off-market parcel of land and designed and built my own home, as well. This is the home I still live in today.

I continued my pursuit of real-estate by acquiring rental properties. Having worked with property management companies as a customer, my experiences led me to want to start my own company to offer better services to owners, but also to tenants.

I've sat on both sides of the table and learned many aspects of real estate: general contracting, home design and construction, off-market property analysis and acquisition, an owner and landlord, an owner of a property management company, and being involved in rehab, flipping, off-market foreclosures, auctions and contract negotiation.

Being a property manager, a customer of a property manager and a real estate investor helps me uniquely understand the challenges of today's real-estate market to help other real estate clients and owners maximize the performance of their real estate portfolio.

Michael Humphrey brings over 30 years of property management expertise to PMI Service Group. As the founder and former CEO of AMP Residential, he successfully built and led a multi-family property management company overseeing 7,500 apartment homes across five states, including Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama, and Florida. Under his leadership, AMP Residential maintained an impressive 95.5% average occupancy rate and achieved consistent annual income and NOI growth of 3-8%.

Michael is a Licensed Indiana, Illinois, North Carolina, and Ohio Real Estate Broker and a Certified Property Manager (CPM®) through the Institute of Real Estate Management. His comprehensive expertise spans acquisitions, due diligence inspections, property renovations, lease-ups, financial planning, and client relations. He also has extensive experience managing multi-million-dollar renovation projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met while maximizing value for investors.

Known for his strategic approach and focus on long-term results, Michael excels at identifying and developing talent, fostering a culture of teamwork and loyalty. His ability to navigate complex financial, operational, and regulatory challenges makes him a trusted leader in the property management industry. Whether collaborating with owners, mortgage brokers, inspectors, or tenants, Michael ensures all stakeholders achieve their goals with professionalism and dedication.
